Family History Center

We had a great time with our combined YM/YW activity down at the Family History Center in Mission Valley.  Elder and Sister Jones from our ward are missionaries heading up the efforts at the Family History Center, which made it fun for us to see some familiar faces right when we got there.  They started right up with the training and within 30 minutes the youth were on computers working on tracking down their ancestors and getting their genealogical lines in order. 

Some had quite a bit of their genealogy already done (one Young Man even tracked all the way back to Adam!) and some were just getting started, and all had a good time :)

 

Human Pinewood Derby

As most of the girls would tell you, there was some serious doubt as to the "fun" factor in the Human Pinewood Derby when the girls first heard that was the new plan for the combined activity in May.  The girls came with an open mind, though, and sure enough, had a fun time!  Aside from eating their fair share of Red Vines, they performed a large part of the "decorations" for the cars, and some even helped carry the cars, when their ropes broke.  good times had by all.
